Dr Adele Burgess, Colorectal Surgeon

Dr Adele Burgess leads the Colorectal Unit at Austin Health and is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. With advanced training in Australia, the UK, and the USA—including the Cleveland Clinic—she brings extensive expertise in colorectal surgery, gastroscopy, and colonoscopy. Adele is also highly skilled in assessing and managing pelvic floor disorders, including faecal incontinence, constipation, anal fistula, and anorectal cancers, through techniques such as pelvic floor ultrasound, anorectal manometry, and pudendal nerve studies.

In addition to her clinical work, Adele offers GP Education Sessions on essential topics, including bowel cancer prevention, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) management, and approaches to faecal incontinence.
