Dr David Proud is a skilled Colorectal and General Surgeon with extensive training in Australia and abroad. Based in Heidelberg, his consulting rooms are conveniently located near Austin Hospital and Warringal Private Hospital. After earning his medical degree from Monash University, David completed his general surgery training at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and was awarded his Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016.
David has also undergone post-fellowship training in colorectal surgery through the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ), with fellowships at St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin and the Austin Hospital. In September 2023, he was appointed Acting Head of Unit for Colorectal Surgery at Austin Hospital.
Dr Proud is available for urgent appointments to address conditions such as perianal haematoma, with in-office treatment options where appropriate to provide prompt relief for patients.
